Hero Arts - Guest Blogger and Giveaway

Lisa Spangler asked me to be guest blogger on Hero Club Blog... In Dutch we say "geluksvogel" (lucky bird) if somebody gets a chance like this. So I'm going to Enjoy Every Moment, as you can read on the card I made for this occasion.
Lisa Spangler vroeg me of ik gastblogger wilde zijn op Hero Club Blog... ik ben een geluksvogel! Voor deze gelegenheid maakte ik een kaartje met de toepasselijke woorden: Enjoy Every Moment.

I used several colors of this Chalk Queue set to color a white Hero Arts folded notecard. I cut a tag out of it, distressed the edges. The picture shows the tag with the first layer of inking. I added another layer after I made the photo. On the leftover scraps I stamped little flowers from the clear Thoughtful Messages set and cut them out.
Ik gebruikte verschillende kleuren van een Chalk Queue set om een witte Hero Arts kaart te kleuren. Ik heb er een tag uit geknipt. De foto is genomen na het eerste laagje inkt. Daarna is er nog een laagje overheen gegaan. De restjes heb ik bestempeld met kleine bloemetjes uit de clear Thoughtful Messages set en uitgeknipt.

I used the darkest Chalk ink (#Maroon) to stamp the Quotes Background and Artistic Leaves. The black stamping (Versafine) was heat embossed, also the bird and flower which are stamped on a white notecard.
De donkerste kleur van de Chalk inkt (#Maroon) heb ik gebruikt om de Quotes Background en Artistic Leaves te stempelen. Al het zwarte stempelwerk (Versafine) werd geëmbossed met kleurloos embossingpoeder, ook de vogel en bloem die op een witte kaart gestempeld werden en uitgeknipt. The punched circle was colored with chalk ink too. I layered the tag with white cardstock and assembled the card. Embroidery floss, wooden beads from my stash and black gemstones from Hero Arts as finishing touches.
Het geponste rondje kreeg ook een laagje chalk inkt. De tag is gemat op wit cardstock. Borduurdraad, houten kraaltjes uit mijn voorraad en zwarte steentjes van Hero Arts zijn voor de afwerking gebruikt. HERO ARTS GIVEAWAY!!!

    That is really a beautiful card. I am particulary drawn to birds, as my daughters name is Raven. I have yet to find just the right bird stamp for her. I love the shading of the reds/pinks and chalk inks are really growing on me. Thanks for the wonderful work. Toni

    1. More than once I have used my inability to paint as an excuse for stamping. To leave the flower and the bird in the "negative" raised the technique level of this tag to graphic design. This could be submitted in an art student's portfolio!
    2. The useful detail in the photos was extraordinary. Thank you.
    3. Today was my first exposure to your site. What a gift.

    your backgrounds are always so inspiring, I love whenever you explain how you did them in detail. One question- do you have any problems with embossing powder sticking to your inked backgrounds when you stamp and heat emboss over the top? how do you solve it? Thanks for sharing such great work.

    Ik kijk sinds een paar weken regelmatig op je blog en dit is de eerste keer dat ik reageer. Voor een oud mens als ik ben is alles met de computer e.d. moeilijk, maar stempelen doe ik heel graag en de stempeltjes met vogeltjes vind ik schattig.
