The heart is cut from Tim Holtz Grungeboard. I colored it with Distress Ink #Aged Mahogany and Distress Crackle Paint #Frayed Burlap. Heat embossing with Distress embossing powder and copper. The stamping on fabric was done with Distress Ink too.

Poppy cards

A few quick "thank you" cards, using a poppy photo I made a few weeks ago.

The trees and quote are stamped with Brilliance #Graphite Black ink. Both stamps are in Darkroom Door's tin Wilderness. Love the font in this set, it looks handwritten.
Tim Holtz' paper distresser was used on the edges.

De bomen en tekst zijn gestempeld met Brilliance #Graphite Black inkt. Beide stempels zitten in het Wilderness blikje van Darkroom Door. Ze hebben een mooi lettertype gebruikt in deze set, ziet er handgeschreven uit. Randjes rafelig gemaakt met de paper distresser van Tim Holtz.

I sponged a bit of color on, using these inks.

Sunday Scraps - 21

While I was collecting my scraps for my Sunday blog post this morning, I found these leftover gesso transfers. They didn't turn out very well, so I decided to use them as a background for my stamping today.

Deze gesso transfers vond ik vandaag bij het "restjes verzamelen" voor mijn zondagse blogpost. Ze waren niet zo goed gelukt voor mijn albums, dus heb ik ze als ondergrond gebruikt om op te stempelen vandaag.

I was going to use them on a card, but then I remembered Dymphie's corrugated cardboard book, and I cut 4" x 4" pieces to use as covers for these post-it notes.
Ik was van plan om ze op kaartjes te gebruiken, maar toen dacht ik aan Dymphie's boek, gemaakt van golfkarton. Vierkantjes van 10 x 10 cm gesneden, en als kaftjes gebruikt voor post-it notes.

The squares are stamped with Brilliance #Graphite black, heat embossed.

Baby Girl - tag

Tag for a baby girl, made with 2 stamps from Odd Bird Planet's June Special Deal. This set of stamps is available now at a 25% discount, but even 30% if you enter the code bday3.
I used the same stamps and color scheme as Teresa did on her Baby Girl card, also stitching and cuttlebug embossing, but they both look very different.

I used the "unsharp mask" in Photoshop (photo above). Below is the "before" photo. It's great to learn tips and tricks, step by step, about photographing cards. Thanks Lisa!

In Photoshop heb ik "unsharp mask" gebruikt om de afbeelding scherper te maken (eerste foto), de onderste foto toont hoe het er eerst uit zag. Bedankt Lisa! Leuk om stap voor stap betere foto's van je kaarten te leren maken.

Summer is coming. I decorated my Summer Garden photo book with a transfer in gesso, stamped with Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink.

Here's another tag, made with the CatFrame stamps from Art Journey. Background was made with Distress Ink and a few drops of Brilliance Refill on a non-stick craft sheet. Background stamping is done with Distress Ink too.
I stamped the cat with Brilliance #Graphite Black, heat embossed. Tag topper is a circle I punched from the same background paper.

Nog een label, gemaakt met de CatFrame stempels van Art Journey. Achtergrond gemaakt met Distress Inkt en een paar druppels uit een Brilliance navulflesje, op een craft sheet. Achtergrondtekst is gestempeld met Distress Inkt, de kat met Brilliance #Graphite Black, geëmbossed. Een cirkel geponst uit het achtergrondpapier om bovenaan het label te gebruiken.

Baby Boy Card

A baby boy card in non traditional colors.
Een babykaart voor een jongetje. In niet-typische babykleuren.

The stamps I used are from of the June Special Deal bundle at Odd Bird Planet. I cut out the square with the mushroom, colored with water-soluble crayons.
During the 3 Year Anniversary Sale (until Juni 30th 2009) you can even get a bigger discount on these stamps, 30% instead of 25.

Stempels gebruikt van de Juni aanbieding bij Odd Bird Planet. Het vierkantje met de paddenstoel uitgeknipt en met wateroplosbare krijtjes ingekleurd.

Special Birthday - Frame Card

A frame card. I've seen this card shape on Magenta's site several years ago.
Dit kaartmodel zag ik een aantal jaren geleden op de site van Magenta.

I used SU slit punch on the corners.
SU slit punch gebruikt op de hoekjes.

The frame is cut as shown below. I glued on the rectangular part first, (remember to put glue on the left hand side of the frame only) and then attached the oval part inside the frame. The oval needs glue on the right hand side only.
Het afdruk is uitgesneden zoals je hieronder kan zien. Eerst het rechthoekig lijstje opgeplakt (alleen lijm op de linkerhelft) daarna het ovale deel in het lijstje geplakt, (alleen lijm op de rechterhelft)

Stamp the frame, cut out the center.
Stempel het lijstje en snij het ovaal uit.

I embossed the oval in the Cuttlebug. Mark the backsides first, so you'll have a perfect match afterwards. Makes the card open/close better.
Het middengedeelte is geëmbossed in de Cuttlebug. Op de achterkant heb ik eerst een merkteken gezet, dan past het achteraf perfect. Maakt het openen/sluiten van de kaart makkelijker.
