Saturday's Workout - Soot Stamping

Today my prize from Tim Holtz' 12 Tags Of Christmas giveaway arrived. So I used these new stamps to try Saturday's Workout challenge: Soot Stamping. An early start on my 2009 Christmas cards :)
Vandaag vond ik stempels van Tim Holtz in de brievenbus, die hij weggaf tijdens de 12 Tags of Christmas op zijn blog. Meteen heb ik ze gebruikt voor de roettechniek, de uitdaging bij Saturday's Workout. Je kan niet vroeg genoeg beginnen met kerstkaartjes te maken :)

I used mat silver brads as berries.
Matte zilverkleurige splitpennen gebruikt als besjes.

The tiny flower, stamped on the scalloped border is part of the sale, that starts on Januari 16th. The heart was cut from a leftover piece of cardstock, after cutting the QuicKutz heart on yesterday's card.
Het kleine bloemetje op de schulprand is van 16-23 januari in prijs verlaagd. Het hart is uit een restje geknipt, nadat ik het QuicKutz hart gestanst had voor het kaartje gisteren.

...I heard that Johanna from Odd Bird Planet is holding a HUGE Chinese New Year Sale from January 16-23. I used some of the stamps on this card.

Summer Joy

I know, it's January and it's freezing...  but I got this cute stamp in the mail, and the oval nestabilities and I just wanted to use them :)   Colored with pencils.
't Is hartje winter, het vriest dat het kraakt...  maar deze leuke stempel en de ovale nestabilities zaten in de brievenbus.   Ik wilde er meteen een kaartje mee maken :)  Ingekleurd met potloden.

Make A Moo Or Two: Winter Frost

Winter Frost is the new theme on Make a MOO or Two. We are having very cold weather these days, inspiration came from the trees in our garden. (See today's photo below).

I used two good old Magenta stamps on this 4" x 4" card. The bugs are heat embossed on Talens Ecoline background. I colored them with Twinkling H2Os and used a white pencil on the wings.
Nog eens 2 oude Magentastempels uit de kast gehaald voor dit kaartje. De beestjes zijn geëmbossed op ecolinepapier, ingekleurd met Twinkling H2Os en een wit potlood.

I punched vellum flowers, and made the petals curl using an embossing tool and a foam pad. Valita's tutorial
De bloemetjes zijn uit vellum geponst, en met een embossingpen bewerkt. Valita's lesje. De pons vond ik bij Art Journey

The Thank You background was stamped with Versamark, heat embossed with clear embossingpowder on navy blue cardstock.

Punched squares.
De Thank You achtergrondstempel is met Versamark gestempeld en kleurloos geëmbossed op marineblauw kaartkarton. Vierkantjes geponst en bestempeld.

The blue flower is a punch too from the blue cardstock.

Blauwe bloem is geponst uit hetzelfde blauwe kaartkarton.

Unfolded, the card can go into a regular envelope.
Opengeplooid past de kaart weer in een gewone omslag.

Saturday's Workout - Salted Backgrounds

Salted Backgrounds is the latest theme on Saturday's Workout. I love this technique, and use it quite often, so here's my entry. I used Talens Ecoline to get a vibrant background and stitched it onto a scalloped felt layer.
Zoutpapier is het thema van de week bij Saturday's Workout. Deze techniek gebruik ik regelmatig, erg leuk om te doen, meestal met Talens Ecoline. Het is hier op een geschulpt laagje vilt gestikt.

January flower freebie - Snowdrop

After receiving emails and nice comments on my photo cards/projects I decided to give away a photo each month, to use in your own work. First one is the Snowdrop for January.
Omdat ik zoveel leuke emails en reacties krijg in verband met mijn fotokaartjes/projectjes heb ik besloten om elke maand een bloemenfoto weg te geven voor eigen gebruik. Ik begin met sneeuwklokjes voor januari.

I used it here on a simple card, sometimes you just need a quick card to write a note on the inside.
Snel een eenvoudig kaartje gemaakt. Altijd handig om zo'n kaartje zonder tekst op voorraad te hebben.

Ik gebruikte deze reeks foto's op een mini kalender, je kan hem HIER zien.

Thanks - Chalk ink on glossy photo paper.

A quick and easy "thank you" card. Size is 4" x 4"
Een snel en makkelijk dankkaartje. Afmeting is 10 x 10 cm.

I used Colorbox Fluid Chalk inks in glossy photo paper. I love the vibrant look of it.
Met Colorbox Fluid Chalk inkt gestempeld op glanzend fotopapier, dat maakt de kleuren levendig.


After drying, these inks leaves white spots on the photo paper, just wipe it off to get a crisp look. See the difference on these samples. (click on the picture for better view)
Als de inkt opdroogt blijft er een laagje op het fotopapier achter dat je makkelijk kan afvegen. Op de voorbeelden hierboven zie je het verschil. (klik op de foto om het beter te zien)
