For my Watercolor Wednesday series I paited more poppies.

Voor mijn Watercolor Wednesday reeks schilderde ik nog meer poppies.

The alphabet set I used is an oldie by EK Success.

Poppies

Poppies are showing up everywhere.  So here's a poppy card.

Een kaartje met klaprozen, want ineens zie je ze overal.

Distress Oxide inks and watercolor paints were used to stamp and color the flowers and grass border.

Distress Inkten en aquarelverf gebruikt om te stempelen en in te kleuren.

Lots of Love

   A Darkroom Door stencil was used to do the gel print on today's card.   Poppies were stamped with Archival Ink Olive.  I stamped the poppies once more onto white paper to cut out.

Voor de gelprint op de achtergrond is een stencil van Darkroom Door gebruikt.  De klaprozen stempelde ik met Archival inkt Olive.  Ik drukte ze nog eens af op wit papier om uit te knippen.

 Some of the stamps were used again on the inside.

Op het binnenblad drukte ik enkele stempels nog eens lichtjes af.

Painted Poppies

 Painted poppies on this get well card.

Een beterschapskaartje met klaprozen.

 I used some leftover paint on my "palette" after a spread in my journal, to paint some quick poppies.

Met wat overgebleven verf over op mijn "palet" van een spread in mijn journal, schilderde ik snel een paar poppies.

To sponge the background I used these Distress Oxide inks and the small Mesh stencil from Darkroom Door.

Om de achtergrond te sponzen gebruikte ik deze Distress Oxide inkten en de kleine Mesh stencil van Darkroom Door.

Harvesting Poppy Seeds

Long ago we received poppy seeds to sow in the garden.  The past weeks I have been harvesting seeds.

Lang geleden kregen we klaprozenzaadjes van iemand, om in de tuin te zaaien.  De voorbije weken heb ik zelf zaadjes geoogst om uit te delen.

They return every year on sunny spots in the garden.

Ze komen elk jaar terug op de zonnigste plekken in de tuin.

I love their seed pods especially.  As soon as the little doors below the crown have opened, it is time to harvest the seeds.

Ze bloeien maar kort, niet erg, want de zaaddozen vind ik eigenlijk mooier dan de bloemen. Zodra de deurtjes bovenaan opengaan is het tijd om de zaadjes te oogsten.

The seed pods inspired me to make the Carved Pods stamps for Darkroom Door.

  De zaaddozen stonden model voor de Carved Pods van Darkroom Door.  

I filled glassine envelopes with poppy seeds, closed the seed packets with washi tape.  A fun job to do on a sunny day.

De klaprozenzaadjes deed ik in glassine zakjes, dichtgeplakt met washi tape.  Een tof werkje op een zonnige dag.

I also stamped tags to go with each seed packet.  Of course I wanted to use the Carved Pods.

Bij elk pakje stempelde ik een label.  Daar gebruikte ik natuurlijk de stempelset Carved Pods voor.

On this tag I used Distress Markers to ink the stamp.
Op dit label gebruikte ik Distress Markers om de stempel te beïnkten.

I also stamped with Distress Oxide inks.

Ook Distress Oxide inkten gebruikt.

But most of the tags were stamped with Scribble Sticks.  I didn't want to stamp the frame, so I used a wet paint brush to apply water to the pod only,  and scribbled with the sticks to get color onto the stamp.

Maar de meeste labels werden met Scribble Sticks gestempeld.  Om enkel de zaaddozen te stempelen, zonder het lijstje er omheen, gebruikte ik een penseel om de stempel nat te maken waar nodig, om er daarna met Scribble Sticks kleur op aan te brengen.

I doodled with a black pen and added splatters using Scribble Sticks and a very wet brush.

Met een zwart pennetje de afdrukken bijgewerkt, en spatjes aangebracht met Scribble Sticks en een heel nat penseeltje.

Darkroom Door has lots of nice quote stamps to combine with the Carved Pods.  I used words from the Art De Fleur Vol 2 set, the Etched Flowers set and the Full Bloom Vol 2 stamp set.

Keuze genoeg voor bijpassende teksten bij Darkroom Door.  Ik koos tekststempels uit de Art De Fleur Vol 2 set, de Etched Flowers set en de Full Bloom Vol 2 set.

Meanwhile most of the seed packets and tags were handed out or sent to family and friends.  I still have a few left...
De zaadjes en labels werden ondertussen uitgedeeld of verstuurd aan familie en vrienden.  Er zijn nog enkele pakjes over...

Poppies - Just Because

On an acrylic paint background from my stash, I stamped the Pretty Poppies collage stamp, using black Archival Ink and Distress Oxide Ink.  I used Oxide Ink and Distress Paint to color the flowers.

De Pretty Poppies collagestempel van Darkroom Door gestempeld op een achtergrond van acrylverf uit mijn voorraad.  Ik stempelde met zwarte Archival inkt en rode Oxide inkt.  Met Oxide inkt en Distress Paint werden de bloemen ingekleurd.

Bistre Card #6

 A while ago I made this bistre background. This is  the last card I made with this sheet.

Een tijdje geleden maakte ik deze bister achtergrond.  Deze kaart is de laatste in de reeks die ik met dat vel papier maakte.

 The poppy was stamped on vellum, heat embossed and cut out.  I also stamped and heat embossed some buds on the bistre background.

De klaproos werd op vellum gestempeld, wit geëmbossed en uitgeknipt.  Enkele knoppen gestempeld op het bister papier.

 I keep my bistre powder in these recycled jars.

Het bister poeder bewaar ik in deze gerecycleerde glazen potjes.

 Found these poppies & peonies when I was rummaging through my stash.  Had to use them.

Birthday Card - Poppy

 A background from my stash.  Again, a stencil that I cleaned on watercolor paper.  I stamped the Chevron Texture using Distress Ink Old Paper.  Poppy and saying are stamped with Archival Ink Potting Soil. 

 Weer een achtergrond uit mijn voorraad.  Handig om een stapeltje klaar te hebben, papier waar een stencil op proper gemaakt werd.  Ik stempelde er de Chevron Texture op met Distress Inkt Old Paper.  De poppy en tekst werden met Archival Inkt Potting Soil afgedrukt.

Poppy - With Love

 A simple 1 layer card with lots of white space.  The poppy was stamped with Distres Paints, and watercolored with Distress Inks.  Before the black ink dried, I used a toothpick to do the fine lines.

Een super eenvoudig 1 laags kaart.  De klaproos werd met Distress Paints gestempeld en met Distress inkten ingekleurd.  Met een prikkertje deed ik de fijne zwarte lijntjes, terwijl de inkt nog nat was.
