A simple 1 layer card, using shades of blue.

I stamped with Distress Ink Uncharted Mariner on watercolor paper and used a brush to get a watercolor look.

Op aquarelpapier gestempeld met Distress inkt Uncharted Mariner.  Een nat penseel gebruikt voor de aquarel look.

I used a stamp from the Bird Life set, stamped with black Archival ink.  The bird is a Tim Holtz die.

Een vogeltje van Tim Holtz gestanst uit zwart papier.  Het gestempelde takje is uit de Bird Life set van DarkroomDoor.

A favorite (very old) Hero Arts stamp.

Een oude favoriete Hero Arts stempel er bij afgedrukt.

Next I had fun doodling. I started with a wonky frame around the image, and couldn't stop doodling.

Daarna wat ontspannend getekend.  Het begon met een simpel lijstje rondom het gestempelde plaatje, maar ik kon niet stoppen.

Faux Postage Stamps - Birds

Making faux postages stamps is fun. 

Leuk om te maken, deze nep postzegels. 

I used this Darkroom Door stencil.  First I stamped a bird using black Archival ink.  Next I covered the birds with a mask (last picture) to sponge around them with Distress inks.  I also stamped the Mesh Texture stamp before removing the mask.

Een stencil van Darkroom Door gebruikt.  Eerst de vogeltjes gestempeld met zwarte Archival inkt.  Bedekt met een maskertje (laatste foto) om de achtergrond te sponzen en de texture stempel af te drukken.

After cutting the masks I saved the rest of the post-it notes, so I could use these to color the birds.  

I cut out the squares with decorative scissors. The euro symbol and numbers are old stamps, by Invoke Arts I think?

Nadat de maskertjes uitgeknipt waren bewaarde ik de rest van de post-its om de achtergrond te bedekken en zo de vogels in te kleuren.  Het euro symbool en cijfertjes zijn oude stempels, ik denk ven Invoke Arts?  Met een postzegelrandschaar te vierkantjes uitgeknipt.

Floral Faves #6

I'm taking the online Floral Faves class by Heather Telford.  

Een kaart voor de online lesjes Floral Faves van Heather Telford.

It is not one of my quick and easy cards, as I did a lot of masking and had to wait for the watercolored flowers to dry first.  I chose a flower from the Fine Flowers Vol 2 set.

Meestal zijn mijn kaarten snel en makkelijk, want veel stempeltijd heb ik niet.  Maar hier moest ik telkens wachten tot de aquarelverf droog was vooraleer ik de bloemen kon bedekken met een maskertje om de aan de volgende bloem te beginnen.

I used these Ecoline Brush Pens on watercolor paper.

Deze Ecoline brush pennen gebruikte ik op aquarelpapier.

A leaf from the Fine Leaves set and a twig from the Bird Life set were used to add some green.

Een blad uit de Fine Leaves set en een takje uit de Bird Life set gebruikt om wat groen toe te voegen.

To stamp the sentiment I used Archival Ink Fern Green.

De tekststempel afgedrukt met Archival inkt Fern Green.

I have a bunch of rectangular dies, but they all are US sizes.  So I was happy to find these EU sizes dies.

Toch nog een set rechthoekige snijmallen gekocht, bij alle andere die ik al heb.  Maar deze zijn EU maten, alle andere waren US maten.  Blij mee!

Gewoon eenvoudig stempelen, sponsen, stencilen en inkleuren met potloden blijft tof om te doen.

There's always room for a vertical sentiment.  The Tall Flowers stamp set comes with 6 vertical sentiment stamps along with 4 flowers.

Er is altijd nog een plekje te vinden voor een verticale tekst.  In de Tall Flowers stempelset zitten naast de bloemenstempels 6 verticale tekststempels.

There's no Place like Home

The Flower Garden texture stamp was stamped with Distress Oxide Kitsch Flamingo.  Next I stamped the birdhouse and label over this print using black Archival Ink and cut out.

De Flower Garden texture stempel afgedrukt met Distress Oxide Kitsch Flamingo.  Daar overheen het nestkastje en het label gestempeld met zwarte Archival inkt, uitgeknipt.

The roof and pole were stamped again with black Archival ink, cut out and colored with Archival Ink Mulberry.  I also inked the edges and the bird.

Het dakje en de paal nogmaals gestempeld met zwarte Archival inkt, met Mulberry Archival inkt gekleurd.  Dezelfde inkt gebruikt om de rand en het vogeltje lichtjes te sponzen.

Glass Dome & Nest

A page in my large Dina Wakley Media Journal.  The background was sprayed with Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays.  I used Darkroom Door stencils with Archival ink Potting Soil.  I love the large stencil to fill a page.

Een pagina in mijn Dina Wakley Media Journal gemaakt.  Gloss Sprays gebruikt op de achtergrond.  De stencils van Darkroom Door gebruikte ik met Archival Inkt Potting Soil.  Een pagina is snel gevuld met zo'n grote stencil.

A lot of masking was needed to stamp the Glass Dome, nest and leaves.  I stamped with Archival Ink and Distress inks.  To watercolor the dome I used Distress Inks.

Om de glazen stolp, nest en blaadjes te stempelen kwam er aardig wat maskeren aan te pas.  Gestempeld met Archival inkt en Distress Inkten.  De stolp ingekleurd met Distress inkten en een penseel.

Here's the last card I made out of a blue & white A4 sheet from my stash.

De laatste van 4 kaarten die ik maakte uit een A4 vel papier in blauw en wit.

Stamps from the Bird Life set were stamped with black Archival ink, and cut out.

Stempels uit de Bird Life set afgedrukt met zwarte Archival inkt, en uitgeknipt.

To create the falling swow I used the Splatter background stamp with Versamark ink and WOW embossing powder.

De sneeuwvlokken op de achtergrond deed ik met de Splatter achtergrondstempel, Versamark inkt en WOW embossingpoeder.

To add berries I used Wendy Vecchi's Liquid Pearls Orange Blossom.

Met Liquid Pearls van Wendy Vecchi maakte ik besjes op de twijgen.  Deze keer koos ik Orange Blossom, omdat het niet altijd rood moet zijn.

Wishing You a Merry X-MAS

Birds on today's Christmas card.

Een kerstkaart met vogeltjes.

Gloss Sprays were used on the background.

De achtergrond met Gloss Sprays gekleurd.

The letters were stamped onto a Plaid background and cut out.  To color the birds I used pencils

De letters stempelde ik op een Plaid achtergrond.  De vogels zijn ingekleurd met potloden.

I stamped a few twigs from the Bird Life set and added Liquid Pearls berries.

Enkele takjes uit de Bird Life stempelset afgedrukt.  Met Liquid Pearls maakte ik de besjes.

Sunday Scraps - 536

As usual on Sundays, I made something using scraps or left over pieces.

Zoals gewoonlijk op zondag, maakte ik iets met restjes.

After die cutting Wendy Vecchi's lanterns from the Warm Wishes set to create another card (click), I was left with this piece of cardstock (see last photo in this blogpost).  I used Darkroom Door's Brick Wall background stamp with Archival ink Potting Soil to stamp the front and back on the mini card.  Make Art Blendable Dye Ink Potting Soil was used to ink the cardstock.

Nadat ik de lantaarns van Wendy Vecchi's Warm Wishes uitgestant had voor een andere kaart (klik) bleef dit kaartkarton over (zie laatste foto).  Met de Brick Wall achtergrondstempel van Darkroom Door stempelde ik de voor- en achterkant van het dubbelgevouwen minikaartje met Archival inkt Potting Soil.  Hier en daar gesponst met Make Art Blendable Dye inkt Potting Soil.

Inside I stamped a bird and twig from Darkroom Door's Bird Life set, using Archival ink.  I masked the bird to stamp the Roses Photo Stamp with Distress Oxide Ink Victorian Velvet.  Sentiment is from Darkroom Door's Warm Wishes set.  Pencils were used the color the bird.

Binnenin stempelde ik een takje en een vogel uit de Bird Life stempelset van Darkroom Door met Archival inkt.  Het vogeltje bedekt met een maskertje om de Roses fotostempel af te drukken met Distress Oxide inkt Victorian Velvet.  Een tekststempeltje uit de Warm Wishes set erbij afgedrukt.  Het vogeltje kleurde ik in met potloden.
