justjohanna & Maya Road Merry-go-round

As soon as I saw this saddled ragdoll pony by justjohanna, it reminded me of a merry-go-round. So I tried to create one...

The base is a papier-mâché box.

I stamped and heat embossed the ponies, left and right, 4 times each. Colored with Luminarte watercolors.

I saved the tube and sticks from the trash :)

I painted the box with Luminarte watercolors.
Het doosje is met Luminarte waterverf geschilderd.

I primed the scallops of 2 Maya Road chipboard circles with Gesso. One side is covered with Basic Grey paper (Blush-Romance), I painted the other side.

I sanded the wooden beads and glued them onto both Maya Road chipboard circles. I used double sided tape to cover the tube with Basic Grey paper. A small piece of wood is glued in the center of the chipboard, to keep the tube in place.

I punched 12 holes in the box to attach the stamped tree toppers with brads.

I painted the scalloped edges with ecoline gold.
De randjes zijn met ecoline goud geverfd.

I cut a circle out of Basic Grey paper, and turned it into this cone shape. The wooden star was attached with a toothpick. For a finished look I attached a lacy border strip around the lid.

Finished. You can enlarge all photos by clicking on them.
Klaar.

Looks like I have inspired Beatriz: Winter Carousel
