Big Mess

These pages in my Strathmore Visual Journal started with 4 butterflies on tissue paper, glued down in my journal.  But they disappeared under layers of paint, as I did not know what I was doing :)  I ended up with these messy pages.

Deze pagina's in min Strathmore Visual Journal begonnen met 4 vlinders op tissuepapier, die ik in het journal geplakt had.  Maar ze zijn verdwenen onder lagen verf.  Ik had geen idee wat ik ging maken.  Uiteindelijk bij deze puinzooi beland :)

The Diamonds stencil was used with light modeling paste from Liquitex.

Textuur aangebracht met de Diamonds Stencil en light modeling paste van Liquitex.

Amsterdam Acrylic paints were used.

Acrylverf van Talens Amsterdam gebruikt.

Left the layers of paint to dry, then stamped with black Archival ink.

De verf laten drogen, daarna met zwarte Archival inkt gestempeld.

What a big mess :)

Gestopt omdat het er steeds rommeliger uit zag :)

Mini Open Book

First I used Dina Wakley Media Gloss Sprays on the background.

Eerst de Media Gloss Sprays van Dina Wakley gebruikt op de achtergrond.

The Mini Open Book was stamped with black Archival Ink.  I stamped the Scratches Texture Stamp on the pages, and also some words from the Artist set.  Added a bit of color using pencils.

Het boek werd met zwarte Archival inkt afgedrukt.  Op de bladzijden van het boek stempelde ik de Scratches Texture stempel en een tekst uit de Artist stempelset.

I masked the book to stamp the sketchy stars.  Next I stamped the book again on a gel print from my stash, to cut it out.  It was glued on the open book, applying glue to the spine only.

Een maskertje op het boek gelegd om de sterren te stempelen.  Daarna het boek nog afgedrukt op een gelprint uit mijn voorraad.  Uitgeknipt en opgeplakt.  Daarbij bracht ik enkel wat lijm aan in het midden.

I stamped some more paint tubes and pencils on white cardstock, to cut out and add to the pages.

Nog enkele potloden en verftubes gestempeld op wit kaartkarton, om uit te knippen en op de pagina's te plakken.

Some of the stars and pencils were colored with pencils.  I inked the edges with Archival Ink Garden Patina.

Enkele sterrren en potloden werden ingekleurd met kleurpotloden. De randen beïnkt met Archival inkt Garden Patina.

Darkroom Door - Bottles Stamps #1

 For Darkroom Door I made this spread in my art journal, using the new stamp set Bottles.

Voor Darkroom Door een spread in mijn art journal gemaakt met een nieuwe stempelset:  Bottles

Darkroom Door  Stamp Set:  Bottles

 Before I cut a set of new rubber stamps, I like to stamp the whole sheet a few times.  A sheet fits perfectly on a page in one of my journals. I stamped the bottles with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Next I used stamps from the Grunge Marks and Wings set to stamp and heat emboss onto the bottles.

Vooraleer ik de stempels van een nieuwe set uitknip, druk ik die stempellap meestal een paar keer af in zijn geheel.  De stempelsets van Darkroom Door passen precies in één van mijn art journals.  De flessenset stempelde ik met Versamark en ze werden wit geëmbosst.  Ik gebruikte ook enkele stempels uit de Grunge Marks en Wings stempelset.

  Using an ink blending tool and Dylusions paints I colored the pages. I used a paper towel to remove the paint from the embossed parts immediately, to keep the embossing white.

Met een ink blending tool en Dylusions verf kleurde ik de pagina's.  Met een stukje keukenpapier wreef ik de verf meteen van het laagje embossing af.

 Garden Patina Archival ink was used to stamp the Grid Texture stamp and the butterflies. 

To add a lighter touch to the bottles I used a white Distress Crayon. 

Met Archival inkt Garden Patina stempelde ik de Grid Texture stempel en enkele vlinders. Het glas gaf ik een lichtere tint met een witte Distress Crayon.

Shadow around and below the bottles was done with a Distress Crayon and a grey pencil. 

Met een groene Distress Crayon en grijs potlood maakte ik schaduw rondom de flessen.

From an early Darkroom Door stamp set, Ornate Elements, I used the numbers, stamped onto white cardstock with black Archival ink, cut out and glued in place.

Cijfers uit de oudere stempelset Ornate Elements op wit kaartkarton gestempeld, uitgeknipt en bij enkele flessen geplakt.

Work in Progress

A background in my art journal.  Made it a while ago.  Waiting for inspiration to finish it.

Art Journal - Find Beauty

 I finished another spread in my Strathmore Visual Journal.  After previous project with Dylusions Paints I wiped my ink blending tools clean onto these pages.  Amazing how little paint you need to cover 2 pages.

Weer een spread klaar in mijn Strathmore Visula Journal.  Na een vorig project maakte ik mijn ink blending tools schoon op deze pagina's.  Niet te geloven hoe weinig je nodig hebt van Dylusions Paints om 2 pagina's van kleur te voorzien.

Next I used the large Crackle stencil from Darkroom Door with Distress Oxide ink.
Daarna ging ik aan de slag met de grote Crackle stencil van Darkroom Door en Distress Oxide inkt.

The Paper Artsy flower mask was used with White Linen  Dylusions paint, ...
Voor de bloemetjes mask van Paper Artsy nam ik witte Dylusions Paint...

...and the Chevron Texture stamp with Tangerine Dream.

...en de Chevron stempel werd met oranje Dylusions afgedrukt.

All images were stamped with black Archival ink.

De overige stempels werden met zwarte Archival inkt afgedrukt.

I found a quote on Pinterest.  I used my good old Quickutz alphabet dies to cut the letters.

Op Pinterest vond ik een bijpassende quote.  Met mijn gouwe ouwe Quickutz alfabet heb ik de letters uitgestanst.

Art Journal - Friends

Another spread finished in my Strathmore Visual Journal.  The theme is Friendship.

Weer een spread klaar in mijn Strathmore Visual Journal.  Ik koos vriendschap als thema.

The first layer was a quick one, because I used the painty baby wipes from my previous spread (CLICK).

De eerste laag was snel klaar, omdat ik de babydoekjes gebruikte met nog voldoende verf van de vorige spread die ik maakte (KLIK)

  

Next I used Darkroom Door stencils with Dylusions Paints.

Daarna ging ik aan de slag met stencils van Darkroom Door en Dylusions verf.

Dylusions Paints

I stamped the Arty Circles Collage stamp onto the painted background with Archival inks Plum and Rose Madder.  And once more with black Archival ink on white paper, to cut out.  Meanwhile the left hand side of the spread looked very busy.  So I decided to keep the rest of it simple.  I used a black pen to draw a large circle.

De Arty Circles Collage stempel met Archival inkten Plum en Rose Madder afgedrukt op de geverfde achtergrond.  En nog eens met zwarte Archival inkt op wit papier, om uit te knippen.  Nu zag de linkerkant er wel heel druk uit.  Dus besloot ik om de rest van de spread eenvoudig te houden.  Ik tekende een grote cirkel in het midden.

The Friends collage stamp was stamped on white paper with black Archival ink.  I cut out the girls.

De Friends collage stempel met zwarte Archival inkt afgedrukt op wit papier, en de meisjes uitgeknipt.

Then I started doodling, so relaxing :)

Ik moest mezelf dwingen om te stoppen met doodlen, zo leuk om te doen.

I glued the girls in place and stamped the words from the Enjoy Life set on white paper.

De meisjes in de cirkel geplakt.  De tekststempel uit de Enjoy Life stempelset met zwarte inkt afgedrukt.

I was lucky, the circle was big enough for the words.

Ik had geluk, de cirkel was nèt groot genoeg voor de tekst.
