Twinkling H2O Storage

After rediscovering my Twinkling H2Os I wanted easy storage, so I would use them more.

Omdat ik mijn Twinkling H2Os herontdekte wou ik iets makkelijks om de verfjes op te bergen, zodat ik ze vaker zou gebruiken.

I have a pile of brandnew unused pizzaboxes, they are easy to cut to size.  So I decided to use these.  I just stapled the corners, quick and easy.

Op zolder ligt een stapeltje nieuwe ongebruikte pizzadozen.  Makkelijk om op maat te snijden.  De hoeken vastgeniet, snel en makkelijk.

I'm keeping the colors in the same order as the swatches I did.

De kleuren liggen in dezelfde volgorde als op de kleurenkaarten die ik maakte.

Looks like a mini pizza :)

The box could use a bit of color.

I found this colorful ducktape in my stash.

The lid goes over both trays.

I finally cut these Sketched Alphabet rubber stamps.  So far I had stamped the entire sheet and cut out the stamped letters.  Today I stamped the entire sheet onto vellum and laminated it to put inside the storage case.

Tot nu toe had ik de Sketched Alphabet stempelset van Darkroom Door in zijn geheel afgedrukt, en telkens de gestempelde letters uitgeknipt.  Maar vandaag heb ik eindelijk het rubber gesneden.  Wel eerst nog een volledige afdruk gemaakt op vellum, en die gelamineerd.  Handig om in het opbergdoosje te leggen.

I also laminated two more vellum index sheets for the new Darkroom Door stamp sets I received.

Ook de andere vellum index vellen gelamineerd van een enkele nieuwe Darkroom Door stempelsets.

I was putting away my Christmas cardmaking supplies, and noticed that my Darkroom Door storage case was quite full.  So I printed another Insert (download here).   Couldn't resist doing some quick sponging and stamping. 

Mijn kerst-stempelspullen zijn weer opgeborgen.  Ik merkte dat het opbergdoosje met Darkroom Door stencils bomvol zat.  Dus heb ik een nieuw inlegvel geprint (je kan het hier downloaden) voor een 2de doosje.  Kon het niet laten om snel wat te sponzen en stempelen.

Darkroom Door - Garden Birds #1

Darkroom Door released new stamps and great stencils recently.  I'm happy to have the Garden Birds that I designed in this release.  I love watching the birds through our kitchen window, and grab the camera for a quick shot whenever I have the chance.  Now and then I post pictures here, you may have seen some if you follow my blog.   The bird photos inspired me for this set.

Darkroom Door bracht onlangs nieuwe stempels en mooie stencils uit.  Ik had het geluk om weer stempels te mogen ontwerpen.  Voor deze Garden Birds vond ik inspiratie bij de vogels die constant voor ons keukenraam verschijnen.  Zo leuk om ze in 't oog te houden terwijl je aan 't koken bent.  De camera ligt altijd klaar, en vaak heb ik het geluk om snel een foto te kunnen maken.  Je zag er misschien al eens voorbijkomen hier op mijn blog.

 Before I cut out the rubber stamps I often stamp the complete sheet a few times for future use.  I also stamp them onto vellum to create an index sheet.

Vooraleer ik de nieuwe stempels uitknip, druk ik vaak de hele stempellap enkele keren af om later te gebruiken.  Ook op vellum, om een indexblad te maken.

 I cut the vellum piece to size, and laminate it.

Het vellum snij ik op maat, en ik lamineer het.

 It fits perfectly in the Darkroom Door storage case.  There are so many stamps in one set, this sheet makes it easy to put them all back in place.

Het gelamineerde vellum blad past nu perfect in de Darkroom Door doos.  Er zitten zo veel stempels in één set, dat je soms moet puzzelen om ze er terug in te krijgen.  Maar met zo'n indexblad gaat dat vlot.

 Also, before I had cut out the stamps I made horizontal lines on the cling side.  This helps to avoid crooked stamping when I'm using a stamping block.

 Vooraleer ik de stempels uitknipte, tekende ik met een balpen horizontale lijnen op de achterkant van de stempellap.  Makkelijker om de vogels mooi rechtop te stempelen met een stempelblok.

I also made a bunch of masks, by stamping the birds on post-it notes and cutting them out.  I keep them in a glassine envelope inside the storage box.  Here's a sneak peek of a project where I used the masks.  I'll share it tomorrow.  But you can already see it on Darkroom Door Blog today (CLICK)

Ik maakte ook alvast een heleboel maskertjes, de vogels gestempeld op post-it papiertjes en uitgeknipt.  Ik bewaar ze in een glassine omslag in de stempeldoos.  Op de achtergrond zie je al een glimp van een projectje waarbij ik de maskertjes gebruikte.  Morgen toon ik het hier op mijn blog.  Maar op de Darkroom Door Blog kan je het nu al zien (KLIK)

Long ago my hubby made me lots of wooden trays to store my woodblock stamps.  11 Years later I have been painting some of them with Dylusions paints.  Like them even more now :)  More to come I guess.  I applied a coat of gesso first, and used mini ink blending tools to paint the trays.

Lang geleden maakte mijn ventje heel wat kistjes om mijn houten stempels in op te bergen.  11 Jaar later heb ik er enkele geschilderd met Dylusions verf.  Nu vind ik ze nog leuker :)  Er volgen er nog meer vermoedelijk.  Ik bracht eerst een laagje gesso aan, en gebruikte mini ink blending tools om te verven.

 Before I cut up my new stamp sheets, I stamp them onto vellum first.  I laminate these vellum index sheets to put them inside the storage boxes.  

 Vooraleer ik nieuwe stempelsheets knip, stempel ik ze eerst op vellum.  Na het lamineren leg ik ze in de opbergdoosjes.

Makes it easy to put each stamp in place, especially if there are a lot of them in one set.  Easy to check if the set is complete before I put them on the shelf.

Makkelijk om alle stempels terug in het doosje te krijgen, vooral als er veel stempels in 1 set zitten.  En makkelijk te controleren of de set compleet is vooraleer ze terug in de rek gaan.

I also keep my masks together with the stamps.

De maskertjes bewaar ik ook bij de stempels.

A while ago I gave my Distress Stains a new label.  There's a link to Ranger's download at the end of this blogpost.

Geen tijd om een kaart te maken.  Dus een foto uit mijn stempelhok.  Een tijd geleden plakte ik nieuwe labels op mijn Distress Stains.  Een link naar de Ranger labels om te downloaden vind je onderaan dit bericht.

Gelli Prints in a Pizza Box

I was looking for a fun way to keep my gelli prints and decided to use a pizza box.

Ik zocht een toffe manier om mijn gelli prints op te bergen.  Een pizzadoos leek me wel handig.  

I gave the box a colorful look before I folded it.  I used my 6" x 6" gelli plate, attached it to an acrylic block and used it as a stamp.

Vooraleer ik de doos plooide heb ik ze een kleurrijk uiterlijk gegeven.  Ik gebruikte mijn gelli plate van 15 x 15 cm, die ik op een acrylblok bevestigde en als stempel gebruikte.

I used several stencils on the lid, and "cleaned" my brayer on the bottom side of the box.

Op het deksel gebruikte ik verschillende stencils, op de onderkant van de doos rolde ik telkens mijn brayer schoon.

These paints work very well on a gelli plate.

Leuke verf om op de gelli plate te gebruiken.

Darkroom Door's Alphabet Medley set was used to stamp "gelli prints" on the front.  I also used some Texture stamps.

Op de voorkant stempelde ik "gelli prints" met de Alphabet Medley stempelset van Darkroom Door.  Ook hier en daar enkele Texture stempels gebruikt.

 It's time for another peek inside my drawers.  Here I'm storing my inks and refills.

Weer tijd om nog eens een lade te tonen tijdens het opruimen van mijn hobbyhok.  Mijn inkten en navullingen bewaar ik in deze lade.

Mijn favoriete Talens Ecoline inkten.  Nog altijd in mooie glazen potjes zoals vroeger.  Leuk om te hergebruiken als ze leeg zijn.

 Shadow Paint, probably the same as Ecoline.

Volgens mij net dezelfde ink als Ecoline.

 Hero Arts alphabet stamps are used to stamp the label.
