I used this stencil to draw the hexagons

De zeshoeken getekend met behulp van een stencil

Then I had fun filling the hexagons with patterns and flowers.

Daarna de zeshoeken opgevuld met allerlei patroontjes en bloemetjes.

 To fold these ornaments, I used the accordion folded candle holder pattern.

Om deze kerstballen te vouwen gebruikte ik weer het patroon van het accordion theelichtje.

Christmas Wreath & Candle

 Another Christmas decoration.  I received the candle years ago as a gift.  It is made by disabled people, and I love it.  Never got the courage to lit it.

Nog meer kerstdecoratie.  De kaars kreeg ik jaren geleden.  Ze is gemaakt door mensen met een beperking.  Te mooi om aan te steken.

I wrapped a straw wreath with fabric and used a glue gun to attach the star anise.
Een strooien krans omwikkeld met een reep stof.  Een lijmpistool gebruikt om de steranijs vast te kleven.

 I decorated the wreath with Filmstrips and Wordstrips from Darkroom Door's Dear Santa Collection.

 De krans verder versierd met Filmstrips en Wordstrips uit de Dear Santa collectie van Darkroom Door.

I used a cookie cutter to cut stars out of orange peels.  Love the smell of star anise and orange together.

Met een uitsteekvormpje heb ik sterretjes uit sinaasappelschil gesneden.  Heerlijke geur, samen met de steranijs.

Canvas - Snowman

Had fun making this canvas.  

Af en toe een canvas maken is leuk om te doen.

To do the background I applied a thick coat of Crackled Texture Paste, which made big cracks.  When dry I painted the background with blue acrylic paint.  Then I applied a thin layer of Crackled Texture Paste, to cause small cracks inside the big ones.  

 Om de achtergrond te maken bracht ik eerst een dikke laag Crackled Texture Paste aan, met grote barsten als resultaat na het drogen.  Dan zette ik er een laag blauwe acrylverf op, en toen die droog was weer een heel dunne laag Crackled Texture Paste.  Dat gaf dan weer heel fijne barstjes in de grotere.

The falling snow was done with a Simon Says Stamp stencil and gesso.  Everything was toned down with gesso.

De sneeuwvlokken werden gemaakt met de Falling Snow stencil van Simon Says Stamp en gesso.  Een laagje gesso zorgde voor minder felle kleuren.

I hand cut a snowman.  Hat, nose and scarf were cut from colored scraps. 

Een sneeuwman getekend en uitgeknipt.  De hoed, neus en sjaal zijn uit restjes geknipt.

I stamped the birds with Archival inks.

De vogels werden met Archival inkten gestempeld.

The snowman, fence and branch got a layer of Crackled Texture Paste too.  I used Distress Inks and Neocolors to add color.

De sneeuwman, de tak en het hekje kregen ook ook laag Crackled Texture Paste.  Met Distress Inkt en Neocolors bracht ik een beetje kleur aan.

Aleene's True Snow was used here and there.

Accentjes aangebracht met Aleene's True Snow.

On the sides I stamped a Purple Onion Designs stamp using StazOn ink.

Op de zijkanten gestempeld met StazOn inkt, de tekststempel is van Purple Onion Designs

Physalis

 Hubby discovered these skeleton Physalis lanterns in our garden last week.  Don't they look pretty?

Had to play with them in Photoshop Elements.

Mijn ventje zag vorige week deze nerflantaarntjes van de Physalis in onze tuin.  Ik vind ze nu mooier dan in de zomer.  Photoshop Elements geopend om eventjes iets met de foto's te doen.

Christmas Birdcage

Here's a Christmas birdcage I made 2 weeks ago, before I had carpale tunnel surgery.

Een paar weken geleden (vóór de ingreep aan mijn hand) dit vogelkooitje voor kerst gemaakt.

First I've cut 15 cages, 3 layers in one go, and cut out everything inside the frame.
Eerst 15 kooitjes uitgestanst, 3 laagjes papier tegelijk, en de tralies weggeknipt zodat alleen een kader overblijft.

Folded them in half.
Dubbel geplooid

I used a gluestick to glue the frames together.
Een plakstift gebruikt om ze allemaal aan elkaar te plakken.

I used beads as spacers.  Had to try several sizes.  When I finally found the right size, I discoverd that I only had 12 of them.  So I used smaller ones too.
Kralen geregen om de tralies op de juiste afstand te houden.  Dat was zoeken naar de juiste dikte.  Toen ik de juiste maat uiteindelijk vond, had ik er daar natuurlijk niet genoeg van :)  Dus hier en daar zitten 2 kleinere kralen.

De onderkant ziet er zo uit.  

I used gold cord at the top.  Glued it in place.
Een goudkleurig touwtje bovenaan door de opening gehaald en vastgeplakt.

A punched circle hides the glue.
Netjes ondergestopt met een geponst rondje.

Another bead on top.
Bovenaan nog een kraal. 

I used green Ecoline paper to cut the bird.
De vogel uit groen ecolinepapier gestanst.

A baby wipe tree and gelli print trees from my stash are used as a background in my Christmas scene.
Boompjes uit babydoekjes en gelli prints opgediept en in de achtergrond gezet voor een kersttafereeltje.

Hand Update

4 Days ago I had carpale tunnel surgery.  Everything went well.  It hasn't been painful and I'm fine.  I'm doing exercises and can bend/stretch my fingers.  I miss stamping and creating, but I just have to be patient.  I have scheduled blogposts with things I made before I had surgery.

4 Dagen geleden kreeg ik een kleine ingreep aan de pols (carpaal tunnel syndroom).  Het is allemaal prima verlopen en ik heb nauwelijks pijn gehad.  Ik doe oefeningen en kan mijn vingers weer strekken en buigen.  Het stempelen en kaartjes maken mis ik wel natuurlijk, maar ik moet geduld hebben.  Er staan nog een aantal blogberichten klaar, met dingen die ik voor de ingreep maakte. 
 Dank je wel voor alle beterschapswensen!

Sunday Scraps - 296

 I love inchies and I love to recycle glass jars.  I used a gluestick to adhere the tissue paper inchies to the jar, and  framed them using a glitter liner from Viva Decor.

 Inchies vind ik tof om te gebruiken, en glazen potjes kan ik ook moeilijk wegdoen :)  dus hier is er weer eentje.  De inchies uit tissue papier werden met een plakstift op het glas gekleefd.  Met een glitter liner van Viva Decor maakte ik er een randje omheen.

 Inside is a scented tealight candle.

Een geurend waxinelichtje in det glaasje gezet.

Black & White - 222

 A candle, tissue paper, stamps, ink and a heattool is all you need to decorate a candle with stamping.

 Een kaars, tissuepapier, stempels, inkt en een heattool is al wat je nodig hebt om een kaars te versieren.

 Stamp on tissue paper, put the image in place on the candle and attach it by heating it.  The image will be covered with a layer of wax.

Stempel op tissuepapier, knip de afbeelding uit, leg op de kaars en verhit tot het papier vast zit.  Er komt een waslaag over de afbeelding te zitten..

Carpale Tunnel

Maybe it will be a bit quiet here on my blog.  I had carpale tunnel surgery yesterday and don't know when I will be able to stamp again.  Have to follow doctor's orders.  But I have scheduled a number of blogposts, and hope to be creating again soon. (typing with 1 hand)

Het zou tijdelijk een beetje stiller kunnen worden hier op mijn blog. Ik zal een poosje niet kunnen stempelen omdat ik gisteren een kleine ingreep moest ondergaan (carpaal tunnel).  Geen idee wanneer ik weer zal kunnen stempelen, ik zal maar naar de dokter luisteren. Maar er staan nog een aantal blogberichten klaar.  Ik hoop zo snel mogelijk weer iets te kunnen maken. (met 1 hand getypt)

X-Mas Decoration

A Christmas decoration with stamped tealights.

Kerstversiering met gestempelde theelichtjes.

 I stamped Darkroom Door's Plaid Background stamp on tissue paper, using Archival Ink Carnation Red.  I punched circles and used a heattool to adhere the tissue circles to the candles, as shown on the picture below.

 De Plaid achtergrondstempel van Darkroom Door op tissuepapier gestempeld met Archival inkt Carnation Red.  Rondjes geponst.  Met de heattool verwarmd tot het tissuepapier vast zat aan het kaarsje
