 As usual on Sundays, I looked for some scraps and leftovers to create a card.  I chose a Summer/Sea theme.

With Sympathy

To do the rectangle on this sympathy card I used a Darkroom Door stencil and Distress Oxide inks.

The black flowers are from the Bold Blossoms set, the twigs from the Bird Life set.

Gift Box with Hand Stamped Cards

 I used an envelope punch board to make a gift box for these cards I made a while ago.

Met een envelope punch board maakte ik een kadodoosje, gevuld met deze kaarten.

The 'Hand Stamped' stamp is meant to sign your cards at the back, but it works this way to I think.

De 'Hand Stamped' stempel gebruik je normaal om je kaarten te tekenen aan de achterkant, maar zo kan ie ook gebruikt worden vind ik.

I stamped a panel to match the cards inside the box, using the same stamps (listed below).  As this is a gift I added a little tag with 'Just For You' from the Garden Greetings stamp set.

Op de voorkant van het doosje gebruikte ik dezelfde stempels als op de kaarten binnenin.  En omdat het een kadootje is, maakte ik een labeltje met 'Just For You', een stempel uit de Garden Greetings set.

 A mix of old and new on this (masculine) card.  The Calendar Stamp set is an early Darkroom Door stamp set that I love to use.  

Oude en nieuwe Darkroom Door dingen gebruikt op deze (mannen)kaart.  De Calendar stempelset is een tijdloze set uit de vroege jaren van Darkroom Door, die ik nog regelmatig gebruik.

 I used the brandnew Diamond Set stencil with Distress Oxide inkpads to create a patterned background for my card.  The same inks were used to color the typewriter and pencils.

De nieuwe Diamond Set stencil van Darkroom Door gebruikt met Distress Oxide inkten om een patroon te sponzen op de achtergrond.  Met dezelfde inkten ook de typemachine en potloden gekleurd.

 Birdhouses in my art journal.  To do the background I used gesso, Paper Artsy Fresco Acrylic Paints and Darkroom Door stencils.

Love using black & white images on colorful backgrounds.

Sunday Scraps - 475

 As usual on Sundays I made something using scraps and left over pieces.  I've cut the pieces to size, taped/glued them in place, doodled and stamped a zig-zag stamp.

Zoals gewoonlijk op zondag, maakte ik weer iets met restjes.  De restjes op maat geknipt, de delen aan elkaar geplakt, met een stiftje de bloemen bijgewerkt en een zig-zag stempel afgedrukt.

Black & White - 418

A simple tag for my black & white series.  Darkroom Door stamps with a sewing theme were used with black Archival ink.

Een eenvoudig label voor mijn zwart-wit reeks.  De stempels van Darkroom Door afgedrukt met zwarte Archival inkt.

 Love to use the new Abstract 01 stamp to frame a scene.

De Abstract 01 stempel gebruikt om een tafereeltje in te lijsten.

 First I stamped the Abstract 01 stamp using Scribble Sticks.  Next I colored my paper with Blendable Dye Ink Buttercup. 

Eerst rondom gestempeld met de Abstract 01 stempel en Scribble Sticks.  Daarna het papier gekleurd met Blendable Dye Ink Buttercup.

 The birdhouse and twigs were stamped with Wendy Vecchi's Archival Ink Peat Moss.  I used pencils to color the birdhouse and I also added blossoms to the twigs.

Het nestkastje en de takjes stempelde ik met Archival inkt Peat Moss.  Met potloden het nestkastje ingekleurd, en de takjes voorzien van bloesems.

 Stamped some twigs inside too.

Binnenin ook enkele takjes gezet.

I stamped the birds on the card, and once more onto smooth watercolor paper to cut out.

Thank You Very Much

A simple Thank You card.

Een eenvoudige dankkaart.

First I inked my smooth watercolor cardstock with Wendy Vecchi's Make Art Blendable inks and a Picket Fence Blender Brush.  

Next I stamped the new Abstract 01 stamp by Darkroom Door using the same colors.

Eerst het glad aquarelpapier gekleurd met Wendy Vecchi's Make Art Blendable inkten en een Picket Fence Blender Brush.

Daarna de nieuwe Abstract 01 stempel van Darkroom Door er overheen afgedrukt in dezelfde kleuren.

I've cut a circle, using Tim Holtz Stitched Circles die.  Turned it around and taped it back in place to get a positive/negative effect.  The Thank You Small Stamp was stamped with black Archival ink.

Een cirkel uitgesneden met een Tim Holtz stans, een halve slag gedraaid en teruggeplaatst.  Dat geeft een positief/negatief effect.  Op de cirkel drukte ik de Thank You Small Stamp af met zwarte Archival inkt.

Before & After #30

 If you read my blog, you may know that I love to stamp my blog banners, and turn them into cards later.  That's what I did here.   You can see how I stamped the blogbanner here.

Wie regelmatig mijn blog bezoekt, weet misschien dat ik mijn gestempelde blogbanners achteraf gebruik om kaartjes te maken. Zoals ik nu ook weer deed.   Hoe ik de blogbanner maakte kan je hier zien.

 I've stamped the Small Thank You stamp by Darkroom Door with black Archival ink, heat embossed with clear embossing powder to make it stand out against the flowers.

De Small Thank You stempel van Darkroom Door afgedrukt met zwarte Archival inkt.  Die kreeg een laagje kleurloos embossing, om nog beter uit te komen tegen de bloemen van de achtergrond.

Darkroom Door - Beautiful Blooms Cards

 Two more cards I made with the new stamp set Beautiful Blooms by Darkroom Door.

Nog twee kaarten gemaakt met de nieuwe stempelset Beautiful Blooms van Darkroom Door.

I stamped with black Archival ink.  The backgrounds were done when I used stencils earlier, by pressing inky stencils onto watercolor paper after I sprayed water to activate the left over ink on my stencils.   Love to 'stamp' with stencils this way, gives instant backgrounds.  Distress Oxide inks and a brush were used to color the flowers.

Met zwarte Archival inkt gestempeld.  De achtergronden werden eerder al gemaakt na een stencil-sessie, de stencils nat gespoten en met de overgebleven inkt 'gestempeld'.  Handige manier om een voorraadje achtergronden bij de hand te hebben.

De bloemen ingekleurd met Distress Oxide inkten en penseel.

On the blue flowers card I stamped words from the Beautiful Blooms set.  Next I used the Short Rectangle Stencil Set to draw a frame.  On the pink flower card I did the frame first, sponged around it.  There was not enough space for a saying from the Beautiful Blooms set, so I chose a stamp from the Simple Sayings Vol 2 set.

De kaart met de blauwe bloem kreeg een tekststempel uit de Beautiful Blooms set.  Daarna tekende ik een kadertje met behulp van de Short Rectangle Stencil set.  Op de kaart met de roze bloem tekende ik net zo'n kader.  Rondom gesponst met Distress Oxide inkt.  Helaas was er niet genoeg ruimte over voor een tekst uit de Beautiful Blooms set.  Maar een tekststempel uit de Simple Sayings Vol 2 set lukte wel.

Birthday Card - Beautiful Blooms

 On this birthday card I use 1 stamp from the new Beautiful Blooms stamp set, with several colors of Distress Oxide inks.  The first layer of stamped flowers was misted with water.  I dried the ink with my heat tool inbetween colors.  Next I stamped the flowers again with the same inks to get a more crisp flower.  Stamped like this, they remind me of firework.

Cut to card size, using a CreaLies die.  

Next I stamped the candles and saying (both from the new release) with black Archival ink.

Slechts 1 bloemenstempel uit de nieuwe Beautiful Blooms set gebruikt op deze kaart, afgedrukt met verschillende kleuren Distress Oxide inkt.  Over de eerste laag bloemen vernevelde ik water, na elke kleur droog gemaakt met de heat tool.  Daarna met dezelfde kleuren de bloemen nogmaals gestempeld, voor een scherpere afdruk.  De bloemen doen me op deze manier een beetje aan vuurwerk denken.

Op maat van de kaart uitgesneden met een CreaLies stans.  Daarna de kaarsjes en wens (beide zijn nieuw) afgedrukt met zwarte Archival inkt.

 As usual on Sundays, I made something using scraps and left over pieces.  

The stamps I used are from Darkroom Door's new release:  Beautiful Blooms.  I love every stamp in this set.  The vellum butterfly is an old MarianneDesign die.

Zoals gewoonlijk op zondag, maakte ik weer iets met restjes.

De stempels zijn nieuw, Beautiful Blooms van Darkroom Door.  Alleen maar mooie stempels in deze set.  De vellum vlinder werd uitgesneden met een oude stans van MarianneDesign.

Black & White - 417

Just a quick page in my sketch book today.  I wanted to play with the new Hexagon Set stencil from Darkroom Door.  I used a black pen to trace the hexagon, sponged with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink and used some Texture stamps inside the hexagons.

Not really a masterpiece, but I had fun :)

Vandaag gewoon snel iets in mijn schetsboek gemaakt.  Ik wou die nieuwe Hexagon Set stencil proberen.  Eerst met een zwart stiftje de zeshoeken getekend, daarna gesponst met Distress Oxide inkt Black Soot.  Texture stempels afgedrukt in elke zeshoek.  Een tekst erbij uit de Artist Palette stempelset.  Geen meesterwerk, maar ik heb me wel geamuseerd :)

Home is ...

 Double fun with stencils :)  After stenciling the heart on yesterday's card, I sprayed water onto the stencil and pressed it onto Canson Bristol cardstock.  Today I added more color using Distress Oxide inkpads and Darkroom Door's Diamond stencil.

I stamped the birdhouse, birds, branches from the new Bird Life set with Archival Ink Potting Soil.  Words are from an older Darkroom Door set:  Home Sweet Home.

Van stencils kan je twee keer plezier hebben.  Nadat ik het hart gesponst had op de kaart van gisteren, vernevelde ik water over de stencil om de resterende inkt te gebruiken bij deze kaart.  Ik drukte de stencil op Bristol papier van Canson.  De kaart verder beïnkt met Distress Oxide inkten, en daarbij ook de Diamond stencil van Darkroom Door gebruikt.  Vogelhuisje, vogels en takjes uit de Bird Life stempelset afgedrukt met Archival inkt Potting Soil.  De tekst komt uit een oudere stempelset:  Home Sweet Home.
