Happy Birthday

This birthday card is 4" x 4".

Een verjaardagskaartje van ongeveer 10 x 10 cm.

First I sponged the background using Make Art inks with the stencil from the Flower Pot set.

Eerst de achtergrond gemaakt met Make Art inkten en de stencil uit de Flower Pot set.

Next I chose a stamp from the Flower Pot set, stamped it serveral times using black Archival ink.

Een stempel uit de Flower Pot set meermaals afgedrukt met zwarte Archival inkt.

The flowers were colored with Distress Markers.

De bloemen ingekleurd met Distress Markers.

'Happy' is a stamp from the Doodle Celebration set.  Combined it with the Birthday definitions stamp, a 20 years old stamp from Hero Arts.

'Happy' is een stempel uit de Doodle Celebration set.  Die combineerde ik met een 20 jaar oude Birthday definitiestempel van Hero Arts.

I layered the die cut circle with a vellum scalloped circle.

De uitgestanste cirkel kleefde ik op een vellum rondje met schulprand.

Today I played with the Tulips photo stamp from Darkroom Door.  I used Distress Markers, colored pencils, Distress Inks, Archival Inks and a stencil.  Turned out a bit messy :)

Vandaag wou ik iets maken met de tulpen fotostempel van Darkroom Door.  Er kwamen Distress Markers, kleurpotoloden, Distress Inkten, Archival inkten en een stencil aan te pas, om tot een niet al te netjes resultaat te komen :)

Pages in my Dylusions Dyalog Insert Book.

Een spread in mijn Dylusions Dyalog Insert Book gemaakt.

I started with these messy pages, where I had stamped off some stamps, and picked up ink from my glass mat while I made other projects.

Met deze slordige pagina's gestart.  Zoals je misschien weet gebruik ik dit journal om mijn stempels proper te maken en inkt van mijn glasplaat op te nemen terwijl ik andere dingen maak.

I used a stencil from Tim Holtz with Distress Ink Mowed Lawn, but it looked too vibrant as a background.  So I sprayed White Gloss Spray.  And I added a thin layer of white gesso to tone it down.

Eerst met Distress Inkt Mowed Lawn en een stencil van Tim Holtz gesponst.  Dat werd te fel voor een achtergrond.  Dus kregen de pagina's eerst een laagje witte Gloss Spray, en nog een dun laagje witte gesso.

Next I inked up the Butterfly Garden border stamp, using Archival inks Garden Patina and Potty Soil to stamp the edges of the pages.

De Butterfly Garden border stempel beïnkt met Archival inkten Garden Patina en Potty Soil om links en rechts op de pagina's af te drukken.

I needed a 'stencil' to sponge a circle.  I remembered this very old circle cutter somewhere in my stash.  It still does the job :)

Ik had een 'stencil' nodig om een cirkel te sponzen.  Even gezocht naar die heel oude cirkelsnijder, hij werkt nog perfect :) 

The Alphabet Medley set was used to stamp the words.  I also stamped a little butterfly from the Butterflies set

Om de tekst op de cirkel af te drukken gebruikte ik de Alphabet Medley stempelset.  Ook een vlindertje uit de Butterflies set gestempeld en uitgeknipt.

Love using these colors together.

Art Journal Cover

I decorated the cover of my Dina Wakley Media Journal.

De kaft van mijn Dina Wakley Media Journal opgesmukt.

After making a page in my black Dyalog journal (click) I pressed the Wildflower stencil onto black cardstock, to use the stencil with white paint as a stamp.  Left it to dry, not knowing what I was going to use it for.

Nadat ik een pagina in mijn zwart Dyalog journal maakte (klik) drukte ik de Wildflower stencil op zwart kaartkarton, en gebruikte hem met de witte verf als 'stempel'.  Weggelegd om te laten drogen, geen idee wat ik ermee zou gaan doen.

Next I sprayed Olive and Turquoise over the entire sheet.

Daarna Olive en Turquoise over het ganse vel gesprayd.

Today I used some Darkroom Door stencils to sponge with gesso.  Love using the Make Art Stay-tion to keep the stencils in place.  I used tape to cover the surrounding words here.

Vandaag koos ik enkele stencils van Darkroom Door om met gesso te sponzen.  Heel makkelijk om de stencils op hun plek te houden met de Make Art Stay-tion.  Met tape de woorden bedekt die ik niet nodig had.

I added details using a white gel pen.  The panel was glued onto the cover of my journal using bookbinding glue.

Met een witte gelpen nog wat accenten aangebracht, en met boekbinderslijm op de kaft van het journal gekleefd.

Fun Experiment

Pages in my Dylusions Dyalog Insert Book.  I use this journal to clean my stamps and stencils, and to pick up leftover inks.  It was a very messy page to start with, quite challenging.

Pagina's in mijn Dylusions Dyalog Insert Book.  Dit journal gebruik ik om mijn stempels en stencils schoon te maken, en om inkt van mijn glasplaat op te nemen.  Het was een rommelige pagina om mee te beginnen, een uitdaging!

I stamped some Fine Flowers at the bottom of the pages and leaves on the top (as there was already a stamped leaf at the top).  A white gel pen was used all over the background to lighten it up.

Enkele Fine Flowers gestempeld onderaan de pagina, en blaadjes bovenaan (omdat daar al een blad gestempeld was).  Met een witte gelpen maakte ik de achtergrond wat lichter. 

I sponged Distress Inks through this stencil to add words.

Deze stencil met Distress Inkten gebruikt om de woorden te sponzen.

I colored the flowers using pencils, and added Liquid Pearls to the center.

De bloemen ingekleurd met potloden, en in het hart van elke bloem Liquid Pearls aangebracht.

Today I made the page at the right in this black Dylusions Dyalog Insert Book.

Vandaag maakte ik de rechter pagina in mijn Dylusions Dyalog Insert Book.

The page started with the Wildflowers large stencil from Darkroom Door and white Gloss Spray.

Gestart met de grote Wildflowers stencil van Darkroom Door en witte Gloss Spray

Then I used a white and a black pen to fill the page.  

Daarna met een witte en zwarte pen de hele pagina gevuld.

Darkroom Door's Sketched Alphabet set was used to do the word.

Met de Sketched Alphabet stempelset van Darkroom Door het woord gevormd.

Happy Birthday

Making lots of quick & easy cards lately.  On today's card I used a gel print background, and added a flower and leaves I've cut earlier (click).  

Al veel makkelijke kaarten gemaakt de laatste tijd.  Ook vandaag weer een gelprint als achtergrond gebruikt, en een bloem die ik eerder al uitsneed (klik).

I doodled the stem.  A saying was stamped over the gel print, and then cut out using a craft knife.  Glued it back in place using foam tape.

De bloemstengel getekend met een stiftje.  Tekst gestempeld en met een mesje uit de achtergrond gesneden.  Daarna met 3D tape weer opgeplakt.

Twinkling stars on this Christmas card.

Twinkelende sterretjes op deze kerstkaart.

To do the background I sponged gesso through the Starry Night stencil.  Next I used these Gloss Sprays.

Om de achtergrond te maken heb ik eerst gesso door de stencil gesponst.  Daarna deze Gloss Sprays gebruikt.

I added a few tiny twinkling stars using Glossy Accents.

Met Glossy Accents enkele kleine twinkelende sterretjes aangebracht.

Dutch words were stamped with Wendy Vecchi's Archival Ink Peat Moss.

The Mini Open Book stamp is a new one by Darkroom Door.

Mini Open Book

A fun stamp to combine with lots of other stamps.  I stamped the book twice with black Archival ink, using a mask to cover the first image.  Next I stamped the Torn Text texure stamp using Shadow Grey Archival ink.  I decided to fill the book with insects and wildflowers.

Een leuke stempel om met andere stempels te combineren.  Ik stempelde met zwarte Archival inkt.  De eerste afdruk bedekt met een maskertje om nog een 2de boek te stempelen.  Daarna de Torn Text texture stempel met lichtgrijze Archival inkt afgedrukt op de pagina's.  Ik koos nu voor insecten en onkruid in de boeken.  

Distress Markers were used to color the images.

De afbeeldingen ingekleurd met Distress Markers.

To sponge around the books I covered them with masks.

Weer maskertjes over de boeken gelegd om rondom te sponzen met Distress inkten.

I chose these messy pages in my journal.  You may know that I use this insert book to clean up my stamps and stencils.  And my glas mat too.

Deze bladzijden gekozen in mijn journal.  Zoals je misschien weet gebruik ik dit insert book om mijn stempels en stencils proper te maken.  En mijn glasplaat.

 I used Distress Oxide inks to stamp the flowers from the Christmas Bush set.

De bloemen van de Christmas Bush set stempelde ik met Distress Oxide inkten.

The clouds were sponged with gesso.  

To do the raindrops I used the stencil with Versamark ink and Distress Embossing Glaze Speckled Egg.

De wolken maakte ik door gesso te sponzen.

Voor de regendruppels gebruikte ik Versamark inkt met Distress Embossing Glaze Speckled Egg.

To make the letters stand out on these quite busy pages, I sponged a white background using gesso.  Next I stamped the letters with black Archival ink.

Om de tekst beter te laten uitkomen op de drukke pagina's maakte ik eerst een witte achtergrond met gesso en een sponsje.  De letters stempelde ik met zwarte Archival inkt.
